Maxie Pulliam, LCSW
Maxie Pulliam was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a graduate of South San Francisco High School and a former member of the American Conservatory Theatre’s Young Conservatory. Maxie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Performance and Sociology from Marymount Manhattan College, and her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She also holds a License in Clinical Social Work with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Maxie presently resides in Los Angeles where she works as a macro level Federal Social Worker with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In her role, she often gives speeches to non-profit grantees and local & federal partners nationwide. In January 2020, Maxie and her family spearheaded the #TulongTaal fundraiser to bring immediate disaster relief to those displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption. In March 2021, Maxie will be releasing, “Fierce Filipina,” an illustrated biography about her great-great-grandmother, Filipina National Hero Gliceria Marella de Villavicencio, and her many contributions to the Philippine Revolution.
