Janine Le is a literary agent with over ten years experience at Sheldon Fogelman Agency, Inc. She enjoys the balance of creative-minded and business-minded work and knew she had found her niche in the field when she interned at Sterling Lord Literistic and realized the agent is the author’s biggest advocate. Janine graduated summa cum laude from Bucknell Unversity with honors in English (Creative Writing) and completed NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute. She represents authors and author-illustrators, fiction and nonfiction, picture books through YA, with clients including Meg Wiviott, Kerry O'Malley Cerra, Leanne Hatch, Su Youn Lee, and Songju Ma Daemicke, among others. She also assists with clients including Jerry Pinkney, Peggy Rathmann, and the James Marshall Trust. She is particularly drawn to stories that have emotional resonance and complex characters and relationships. She also looks for innovative concepts, diverse perspectives, humor, fantastic elements, and concise but playful or poetic language. In illustrations, she is looking for fresh styles, expressive characters, and visual storytelling. Her favorite place to be is in nature with her family.
